Владимир Светлов – The Path to Yourself, or the Road to Happiness: First Steps. Vladimir Svetlov (страница 8)

18

A true adult often behaves like a child: they have fun, fool around, enjoy themselves, joke. But when necessary, they are serious. You can't be serious all the time: there's no need for that. You can't enjoy life while constantly being in a focused state.

Therefore, an adult is free, uninhibited, knows where they're going and why. And they go there playfully, with a sense of indifference in their pocket. They don't strain, they don't puff themselves up, they don't put on an act. And they aren't afraid of messing up. They simply don't care about any fears or doubts.

From Words to Action. With Healthy Indifference

Often, in conversations with friends, we notice how topics that seem useless or even absurd to us can be the key to a deep understanding of ourselves and the world around us. "Why do you need that?" we ask, not realizing that the answer to many of our internal questions may lie precisely in this "why." Such conversations often end, leaving behind ignorance.

This attitude towards psychology is often linked to prejudice and misunderstanding: "To a psychologist? What, are you crazy or something?" Such words can shield the mind from exploring itself. However, it is precisely internal searching, reflection, and analysis that help achieve a deep understanding of one's own nature and the world as a whole.

Exploring one's own thoughts, feelings, and beliefs is a process that leads to unraveling many of life's mysteries. It's not just "poking around in your soul." It's a journey to the logical ends of your consciousness and an emergence into the world that we ourselves choose. This process is especially important, given that many of us were deprived of the opportunity to explore our inner selves in the past, when such conversations were forbidden and ignored.

Today we live in an era when self-exploration is becoming possible. It is even encouraged. This is a necessary stage in the evolution of the human mind and soul. It's no coincidence that advanced people, striving for understanding, are increasingly turning to this method of self-knowledge. Because it is precisely in the process of analysis and examination that we find answers to many questions that can define our lives.

Thus, discovering and exploring one's consciousness becomes the key to a conscious life and a deep understanding of oneself and the world.

Once, I was invited to a championship for 100-meter underwater swimming without scuba gear. One of my students, who was participating, invited me. And so she goes underwater—and immediately surfaces:

— "I can't."

— "What can't you do?" asks the coach.

— "I start to..."

In short, when descending underwater, she begins to have hallucinations. Childhood memories surface, past relationships, other things. And all because, as she sinks into the depths, she reaches the threshold of death. And all these unresolved issues that prevent her from descending surface in her consciousness.

The same thing happens when you move toward your life's goal or dream. On your path, similar questions arise, but not as images—you're not on the brink between life and death, yet those images appear there. In this state, you don't know what you're fighting inside yourself or what is blocking your life. And that's important. It's important to get answers to these questions. It's important to sort it out. With a guide, you can even safely enter those states where the images appear. But you're afraid.
