New Neighbors – Новые соседи

On the second day in the new city, Anna heard a knock on the door. She was surprised because she did not know anyone yet. She opened the door and saw a woman and a man. They were smiling.

“Hello! We are your neighbors,” the woman said. “My name is Kate, and this is my husband, Tom.”

Anna smiled and said, “Nice to meet you. I’m Anna.”

Kate held a small box. “We made some cookies for you,” she said. “Welcome to the building!”

Anna felt happy and invited them inside. They sat in the living room and started talking. Kate and Tom were very friendly. They asked Anna about her move and her old city.

Anna told them that everything was new for her. “I like the city,” she said, “but I still feel a little lost.”

Tom nodded. “That’s normal,” he said. “We can help you. If you need anything, just ask.”

Kate told Anna about the building. She explained where the laundry room was and how everything worked. She also invited Anna to join them for dinner one day.

Anna thanked them. She felt more comfortable now. It was nice to know that she was not alone.

After they left, Anna tried the cookies. They were very good. She smiled and thought, “I have good neighbors.”

In the evening, Anna wrote in her notebook. She wrote, “Today I met my neighbors. They are kind and helpful. I feel better now.”
