AI can analyze text for sentiment. But it often misses sarcasm.

The phrase "Well, you're just great" can be praise or sarcasm after a mistake. Only a human knows the context.

Develop observation skills. In correspondence, pay attention not only to meaning but to form. The use of emojis. The time messages are sent (late at night after a deadline? They're stressed).

The Emotional Capital of the Team

At Luxoft, I managed a distributed procurement team. People were in different time zones. We didn't see each other for months.

The risk of burnout was colossal.

We introduced a "No-Task Friday" rule. On Fridays, you cannot assign new tasks or demand urgent completion. It's time for learning, communication, meetups.

We started holding online meetings where talking about work was forbidden. The first 15 minutes – only about life. "How was your vacation?", "What are you reading?", "How are the kids?".

It seemed like a waste of time. 15 minutes times 50 people is 12 hours of work per week!

But it reduced employee turnover by 20% over the year. People felt they were not cogs but part of a community.

Emotional capital is a reserve the team uses in a crisis. If you don't invest in it during calm times, you'll have nothing to lean on in a storm.

Why a Robot Cannot Sell a Dream

Investors put money not into numbers, but into vision.

When I present projects, I don't just show Excel tables. I tell a story.

"Imagine a world where..."

"We are solving a problem that everyone faces..."

A neural network can generate slides. But it cannot light up an investor's eyes. It cannot convey passion.

Passion is contagious. It's a biological process. Mirror neurons in the listener's brain copy the speaker's state.

If you are calm and confident – they are calm and confident.

If you doubt – they doubt.

AI has no state. It cannot be confident. It can only imitate confidence with text.

Therefore, in high-level deals (M&A, strategic partnerships), a handshake is always needed. A personal meeting. Chemistry between people.

Practicum: Developing Empathy

The "Three Perspectives" Exercise. Before an important conversation, write down three points of view:

• Your goal.

• The interlocutor's goal (what they really want, not what they say).

• The goal of a neutral observer (how it looks from the outside).

Active Listening. In your next dialogue, try not to interrupt. After the interlocutor finishes, pause for 2 seconds. Then paraphrase their thought: "If I understand correctly, you mean...". This magically lowers the conflict temperature.

Emotion Journal. In the evening, write down: "What did I feel at 3:00 PM today? Why?". This teaches you to recognize your triggers.
